Yaya took to facebook to offer an inspiring message of consolation and support to the Ivory Coast football team following their exit of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Ivory Coast lost 1-0 to Morocco on Tuesday, meaning they are now unable to progress into the knock-out rounds of Africa’s biggest footballing competition.

Yaya said:

“Restons forts et humbles face à la défaite. Il nous faut pouvoir se relever et repartir de plus belle. L’échec d’aujourd’hui doit corriger nos erreurs pour les compétitions prochaines.

Force à tous nos jeunes joueurs de la sélection nationale.

Cette nouvelle génération gagnera un jour…”

Translation:
