04 Apr Yaya: “The Ivory Coast must keep winning”
Following the Ivory Coast’s 1-1 draw with Sudan on March 29th in the Africa Cup of Nations, Yaya took to social media to express his belief that the young talent possessed by his country’s squad will still see them qualify for next year’s tournament where they will aim to retain their title.
The Elephants 1-0 victory over Sudan in Abidjan came just four days prior to the 1-1 draw in Khartoum in the second leg of their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers’ Group I double header.
Yaya said: “The two matches played against Sudan were difficult. But our national team had merit and was able to make a considerable advance in the race for qualification in 2017. This is the place to encourage our young footballers and to believe in the qualities of my teammates to defend our title of African champions. The Elephants deserve more success. The Ivory Coast must keep winning.”
